Don't think that because a redesigned room
is completed in only hours that it doesn't
take someone with training, incredible
talent and decorating savvy to pull your
redesign together. Well, meet such a person,
Bonnie Burnett Cohen.
Bonnie is the owner of Truly Yours Redesign
and Staging Works. Cohen is also the Founder
of The South Florida School of Redesign and
Staging in Miami, Florida.
Prior to her current business ownership's,
she was a flight attendant for a major
airline and had received a degree in Travel
and Tourism Management.
Bonnie studied the martial arts of Tae Kwon
Do for fifteen years, attaining the rank of
Fourth Degree Blackbelt Instructor. This is
equal to earning four blackbelts! She is
also a certified Rape Prevention Instructor.
Throughout, her most colorful and
diversified life, Bonnie carried a passion
for interior design. So, upon retirement
from the airlines, she attended college
courses in design and soon went to work for
an interior designer in the Miami area.
High design was her style, but not the high
cost and the long time it takes to
complete an interior design. Bonnie felt
that everyone, regardless of their budget
should be able to have a beautiful interior
in their home.
Bonnie channeled her decorating and design
savvy into redesign. The concept of "use
what you have decorating" was in its
infancy, but Truly Yours Redesign
was born in the early part of 2000. Bonnie
was one of only four people in the state of
Florida, at this time, offering her
services as a certified redesigner to
clients.
The birth of Truly Yours Redesign was
followed three years later with the sister
company, Staging Works.
Staging is a specialized service for the real
estate market. An accredited stager will
prepare a property that is for sale, so that it
will be in top selling condition and its appeal
will be maximized. A staged home usually sells
for about 20% more than a home that isn’t
staged, according to realtor statistics. A
home’s focal points will be staged to draw a
buyer’s eye to them, and less desirable details
will be minimized. A home that is staged sells
for a higher bid and faster than a property that
isn’t staged. Stage it first before you reduce
the asking price later.
Bonnie has had specialized training and has
received accreditation in staging property for
the real estate market. She firmly believes
that every home, before it is placed on the
market can benefit from being staged. According
to her, “From mansion to modest, townhouse to
trailer, every property before a for sale sign
goes in the yard, should be staged!” Staging
Works!
